Building research capacity for global impact
The Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) has been a transformative force within Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), helping the institution develop world-class researchers and leaders in academia. CARTA collaborates closely with OAU to strengthen research capacity and foster interdisciplinary innovation that addresses pressing societal challenges.
This collaborative initiative empowers junior faculty to pursue doctoral training locally while gaining global recognition. Supported by a robust network of African and international partners, CARTA is co-led by the African Population and Health Research Center in Kenya and the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.
